Creating Production Work Orders
Creating Production Work Orders
A Work Order (WO) tells the floor to manufacture a quantity of a product.
Creating a Work Order
- Go to Karya → Work Orders → + New WO
- Select the product and its BOM
- Enter the quantity to produce
- Set the planned start and finish dates
Karya automatically calculates the materials needed by multiplying the BOM by the quantity.
Material Availability
Before starting, Karya checks stock and warns if any component is short, so you can purchase or transfer in advance.
Running the Work Order
- Released — ready to start
- In Progress — production underway; materials consumed
- Done — finished goods added to inventory
- Cancelled — stopped
Recording Output
On completion, enter the actual quantity produced (good units) and any scrap. Inventory updates automatically: raw materials down, finished goods up.
Linking to Sales
Create a WO directly from a confirmed sales order so you produce exactly what's been sold (make-to-order).
Tip
Track plan vs actual on each WO to spot recurring material overuse or delays.
