Manufacturing Setup with Kinexa Karya
Manufacturing Setup
Kinexa Karya is the manufacturing module for companies that produce goods. It covers product definitions, bills of materials (BOM), work centers, and production orders.
Step 1: Activate the Module
Login to the Kinexa dashboard and activate the Karya module from settings.
Step 2: Define Finished Products
- Go to Karya > Products
- Click + New Product
- Fill in: product name, SKU, unit of measure, category
- Set the product type as Manufactured
- Upload product image and specifications
- Click Save
Step 3: Create a Bill of Materials (BOM)
A BOM defines the raw materials and components needed to produce one unit:
- Open the product you created
- Click the BOM tab
- Click + New BOM
- Add component lines: material name, quantity per unit, unit of measure
- Set the BOM version (you can have multiple BOM versions)
- Click Save
Example BOM — Wooden Chair:

Step 4: Set Up Work Centers
Work centers represent production areas or machines:
- Go to Karya > Work Centers
- Click + New Work Center
- Enter: name, location, capacity (units/hour), operating hours
- Assign responsible personnel
- Click Save
Step 5: Define Routing (Optional)
Routing defines the sequence of operations to produce an item:
- Open the product BOM
- Click the Routing tab
- Add operations: operation name, work center, estimated time
- Set the sequence order
