Domain Ownership Verification

Before the Liqaa chat widget can operate on your website, you need to verify that you own the domain. This prevents unauthorized use of your widget on other websites.

Why Domain Verification?

• Security — Ensures only your verified websites can use your chat widget
• AI Context — After verification, Liqaa reads your website content to help the AI answer visitor questions accurately
• Brand Protection — Prevents someone from embedding your widget on a fraudulent site

Plan Limits

Each plan tier has a limit on how many websites you can verify:

Step 1: Navigate to Domain Page

Go to Dashboard > Domain (globe icon in the sidebar). You'll see the "Verified Websites" page showing your current domains and usage limit.

Step 2: Add Your Domain

Click the "+ Add Website" button. Enter your domain name (e.g., example.com) without http:// or www. prefix. Click "Add Domain".

Step 3: Copy DNS TXT Record

After adding the domain, Liqaa generates a unique verification token. You'll see:

• Record Type: TXT
• Name / Host: `_liqaa-verify.yourdomain.com`
• Value: A unique token string (e.g., `e07cd576b6ab4ba7917fed739c220bac`)

Use the Copy buttons to copy the name and value.

Step 4: Add TXT Record at Your DNS Provider

Log in to your domain registrar or DNS provider and add the TXT record:

#### Cloudflare

1. Go to DNS > Records
2. Click Add Record
3. Type: TXT
4. Name: _liqaa-verify (Cloudflare auto-appends your domain)
5. Content: Paste the token value
6. TTL: Auto
7. Click Save

#### Namecheap

1. Go to Domain List > Manage > Advanced DNS
2. Click Add New Record
3. Type: TXT Record
4. Host: _liqaa-verify
5. Value: Paste the token
6. TTL: Automatic
7. Click the checkmark to save

#### GoDaddy

1. Go to My Products > DNS > Manage
2. Click Add under Records
3. Type: TXT
4. Name: _liqaa-verify
5. Value: Paste the token
6. TTL: 1 Hour
7. Click Save

#### Niagahoster

1. Go to Domain > Kelola Domain > DNS/Nameserver
2. Click Tambah DNS Record
3. Tipe: TXT
4. Nama: _liqaa-verify
5. Nilai: Paste token
6. Click Simpan

#### Other Providers

The process is similar for all DNS providers. Look for "DNS Management" or "DNS Records" in your domain settings panel.

Step 5: Wait for DNS Propagation

DNS changes typically take 1-5 minutes to propagate, but can take up to 48 hours in rare cases. You can check propagation status using tools like:

• whatsmydns.net
• dnschecker.org

Search for _liqaa-verify.yourdomain.com with record type TXT.

Step 6: Click Verify

Once DNS has propagated, click the "Verify" button on the domain card. Liqaa will check for the TXT record:

• Success — Domain status changes to "Verified" (green). Liqaa will automatically read your website content to train the AI assistant.
• Failed — An error message explains what went wrong. Check your DNS settings and try again.

After Verification

Once verified:

• Your chat widget will work on that domain
• Liqaa crawls your website content and stores it as AI reference memory
• The AI agent can answer visitor questions about your business accurately
• Origin enforcement blocks the widget from unauthorized domains

Troubleshooting

"DNS record not found"

• Wait longer — DNS propagation can take time
• Verify the TXT record name is exactly _liqaa-verify.yourdomain.com
• Make sure you added a TXT record (not CNAME or A record)
• Some providers require the full name including domain, others just the prefix

"Website limit reached"

• Your plan tier has a maximum number of verified websites
• Upgrade your plan at Dashboard > Plan & Usage to add more websites

Domain shows "Failed"

• Click "Retry" to check again after fixing DNS
• You can also remove the domain and re-add it to get a fresh token

Removing a Domain

Click the trash icon on a domain card, then confirm. This removes the domain from verification and the widget will stop working on that domain.
