How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your Kinexa account. After enabling 2FA, you will need both your password and a code from your authenticator app to log in.

Prerequisites

  • A smartphone with an authenticator app installed (Google Authenticator, Authy, or any TOTP-compatible app)

Step 1: Open Security Settings

  1. Login to your Kinexa account
  2. Click your avatar in the top-right corner
  3. Go to Account Settings > Security
  4. Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Step 2: Scan the QR Code

  1. Open your authenticator app on your phone
  2. Tap the "+" button to add a new account
  3. Scan the QR code displayed on screen
  4. Your app will show a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds

Step 3: Verify and Activate

  1. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app
  2. Click Verify & Activate
  3. Your 2FA is now active

Step 4: Save Backup Codes

After activation, you will receive 10 backup codes. These are one-time use codes in case you lose access to your authenticator app.

Important: Save these codes in a secure place. Each backup code can only be used once.

Logging In with 2FA

  1. Enter your email and password as usual
  2. You will be prompted to enter a 6-digit code
  3. Open your authenticator app and enter the current code
  4. If you lost your phone, use a backup code instead

Disabling 2FA

  1. Go to Account Settings > Security
  2. Click Disable 2FA
  3. Enter your current password to confirm
  4. 2FA will be removed from your account
