Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
2FA protects your account even if your password is stolen.
What You Need
An authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator on your phone.
Setup Steps
- Go to Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication
- Click Enable 2FA
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app
- Enter the 6-digit code shown in the app to confirm
Save Your Backup Codes
After enabling, Kinexa shows one-time backup codes. Store them somewhere safe — they let you log in if you lose your phone.
Logging In With 2FA
After your password, you'll be asked for the current 6-digit code. The code changes every 30 seconds.
For Organizations
Admins can require 2FA for all members under Settings → Security → Policies — strongly recommended for teams handling financial or customer data.
Troubleshooting
- Codes rejected? Check your phone's clock is set to automatic — time drift breaks codes
- Lost your phone? Use a backup code, then re-enable 2FA on a new device
