Importing Contacts from Excel / CSV

Already have customers in a spreadsheet? Import them in bulk.

Step 1: Prepare Your File

• Save as .csv or .xlsx
• Use clear column headers: name, email, phone, company, tags
• Format phone numbers as +628... so WhatsApp works immediately

Step 2: Upload

1. Go to Contacts → Import
2. Click Choose File and select your spreadsheet
3. Mitra previews the first few rows

Step 3: Map Columns

Match each spreadsheet column to a Mitra field. Unmapped columns can be sent to custom fields or skipped.

Step 4: Handle Duplicates

Choose how to treat existing records:

• Skip — keep current data
• Update — overwrite with new values
• Create new — allow duplicates (not recommended)

Step 5: Import

Click Start Import. Large files process in the background, and you'll get a summary of created, updated, and skipped rows.

Tip

Import 10 rows first as a test before uploading thousands of contacts.
